Greed!
With all that is happening in our financial world it is plain to see that greed has created havoc in our lives. The thing we don’t probably see is that the cause of all this turmoil is in the first three words of the United States Constitution; WE THE PEOPLE. Our government, our institutions, our entire world is nothing more than WE THE PEOPLE. Zen said, “We don’t see the world as it is; We see it as we are. When we each take greed out of our own personal mentality it will dissipate in the world. We have lived beyond our means for too long and this rudiment has infected all that WE THE PEOPLE are. With the elections around the corner I continually hear complaining and watch finger pointing with no one willing to accept blame for our situation. The truth is that we are all responsible for our situation and until we each make adjustments in our life styles and demand that our government do the same we are headed for catastrophic results. The primary law in the Universe is Cause and Effect. We can only change the effects by correcting the causes.
We all want, want, and want. We must learn to live within constraints and quit loading ourselves with debt. In one of my favorite books it declares, “We are an undisciplined lot.” This applies to most of our American society. We drive vehicles that gobble our natural energy resources. Our comfort levels are extreme measured against the rest of the world. We continue to import more than we export. We live in homes that stretch our pay and borrow to cover the shortfall. We have all become spoiled children, who must have all that we crave.
Craving comes from the Ego, while happiness comes from the Soul. I can promise you that you will never satisfy your Ego. The Ego only wants one thing; MORE! It is OK to have desires as the Universe gave us desire to lead us to our ultimate potential. It is not OK to lust for more than we can afford as this displays doubt in the Universe. We must move our lives forward with the vehicle of our careers. Enlarging this conduit allows the flow of prosperity to increase exponentially. We should allow our income to drive our desire and not live with the stress of our gluttony driving our income. It is also important to separate our needs from our wants and be sure to fulfill our needs first and foremost.
I believe that the Universe has enough for everyone to have everything they desire. We must be patient to follow the map to our treasure and not acquire our treasure by jeopardizing our financial future. We must all learn to separate our lust with time. Often when I put distance between my lust and my acquisition I lose my desire or my desire becomes clearer and that clarity often subdues my lust. Lust, greed and doubt are all forms of fear. I was taught years ago that fear was an acronym; False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear is an illusion and love is real. When we use modes of love such as trust, faith, patience, understanding and gratitude we will quickly loose fear.
Fear is merely a shadow created by a lack of faith in the Universe. The Universe is in full control and although we don’t comprehend the day to day interaction between the Universe’s will and our will it would behoove us all to learn to LET instead of MAKE. This philosophy has decreased my stress by ninety percent and increased my productivity by the same. Live in the NOW. Live within your means. Give all that you can and show the Universe that you trust that it will provide for your future without fear. And most of all remember…
Your Life is PERFECT!
